Today in Jewish baseball history

1987 — The Baltimore Orioles select pitcher Jose Bautista from the New York Mets in the Rule 5 draft. Bautista will pitch for the Orioles in four of his nine major-league seasons.

1995 — The Minnesota Twins sign pitcher Mike Milchin, who had been in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ organization. Milchin will appear in 39 games in 1996 with the Twins and Baltimore Orioles.

2010 — A judge in the divorce proceedings of Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt invalidates a 2004 marital property agreement that stated the Dodgers were McCourt’s sole property. As a result, his former wife Jamie Luskin McCourt is recognized as half-owner of the team. She is considering selling her share to outside investors.
