Getting to know Steve Stone

In 1981, the year after Steve Stone won 25 games and the Cy Young Award for the Baltimore Orioles, my wife and I reached out to him. The connection was that my wife was from University Heights, Ohio, and Steve was from South Euclid, Ohio, two adjacent suburbs of Cleveland.

I am from Baltimore, and a lifelong Orioles fan, Steve responded to our request to meet, and we did so several times that year. It was a true pleasure getting to know him.
