An 11th-round draft pick by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2017, Lazar signed a minor-league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies after the 2023 season. After compiling a 0.00 ERA in eight games at Double-A, he was promoted to Triple-A where he had a 2.40 ERA and 10 saves in 26 outings. He was promoted to the Phillies on Aug. 9, 2024 and made his major-league debut the next night in relief against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He immediately formed a Jewish battery along with catcher Garrett Stubbs and struck out Joc Pederson, the second batter he faced.
