Jared Shuster
A first-round draft pick (25th overall) by the Atlanta Braves in 2020, Jared pitched for Wake Forest where he twice was named Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week. In 2021 he went a combined 2-0 with a 4.44 ERA at Single-A Rome and Double-A Mississippi. He split 2022 between Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett before making the Braves’ Opening Day roster in 2023. He earned the starting rotation spot largely on a dominant spring training during which held opponents to a .115 average with a 1.45 ERA in 18 2/3 innings.
He made his major-league debut on April 2, 2023 against the Washington Nationals. He was traded to the Chicago White Sox after the 2023 season.
On April 16, 2022, Shuster struck out eight consecutive Biloxi batters, which tied a Southern League record.
